Job Summary

As a RNG Project Engineer at Clean Energy, you will play a crucial role in the successful execution of RNG project activities with a team of professional engineers, project managers, and business leaders. Your primary responsibility will be to maintain schedule and budget while ensuring the timely completion of projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare basis of design documentation, process flow diagrams, and mass and energy balances.
  • Analyze equipment specifications and performance requirements to determine appropriate designs and contractual needs.
  • Review and check engineering deliverables of 3rd party process engineers to determine accuracy and completeness.
  • Participate in HAZOP and PHA studies on behalf of facility ownership.
  • Manage multiple projects/tasks simultaneously.
  • Review project proposals, contracts, specifications, project budgets, and project information forms to ensure all information is available and consistent.
  • Work alongside project managers to coordinate and drive all aspects of projects.
  • Determine federal, state, and local requirements necessary for construction and coordinate project activities with government regulatory agencies.
  • Prepare and provide project status reports and ensure project documentation is complete and accurate.
  • Partner with Business Development personnel to channel technical communication with project partners.
  • Coordinate with local utilities to ensure timely completion within the project design and schedule.
  • Inspect work in progress, drawings, and specifications to ensure workmanship conforms to contract specifications.
  • Interface with public and regulatory officials, including authorities having jurisdiction.
  • Travel to project sites to develop site assessments, supervise critical construction activities, and commission and closeout projects.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited University, 3-5 years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Preferred chemical, process, or mechanical bachelor's degree.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Preferred Skills and Experience
  • Coordination of design inputs and design activities with other engineering disciplines in a team environment.
  • Able to interface directly with project managers, engineers, 3rd party engineering firms, EPC firms, construction personnel, operations personnel, and other project stakeholders.
  • Manage the delivery of necessary documentation and notifications to support start up and commissioning and close out all punch list items.
  • Participate in weekly, monthly, and quarterly project status meetings, calls, or visits.
  • Confer with project personnel to provide technical advice and to resolve problems.
  • Contribute to ongoing composition of our compliance Standard Operating Procedures.
Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Computer Skills

Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Professional Engineer (PE) license is a strong preference.
