About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Labor Manager to join our Service group in Champlin, MN. As a Labor Manager, you will play a vital role in overseeing the coordination of our Limited Energy workforce within our Service group, ensuring the timely and successful completion of our projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Workforce Coordination: Coordinate everyday activities of the Limited Energy field workforce, including hiring, separations, performance management, new-hire orientation, training, etc.
  • Relationship Building: Develop and foster relationships with project managers and other partners through quality performance of work.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with the field workforce and Egan office staff, labor union leaders and managers, and internal and external customers.
  • Union Labor Management: Understand and execute union labor collective bargaining agreements on behalf of Egan Company.
  • Workforce Scheduling: Organize, schedule, and coordinate locations of individual field employees.
  • Workforce Projections: Provide labor workforce projections based on project manager schedules and input.
  • Installation Standards: Work with the leadership team to develop and enforce installation standards.
  • New Hire Onboarding: Onboard and set up new Service field staff.
  • After-Hours Support: Act as backup support by contacting the primary on-call technician or coordinating with other available technicians to promptly address after-hour calls.
Requirements
  • Experience: 2+ years of experience with the electrical trade.
  • Education: Required: High school diploma; Preferred: Two or four year degree in related field.
Qualifications
  • Construction Experience: Two years of construction-related experience, including a minimum of two years supervising/managing people.
  • Computer Skills: Proficient in the use of standard office computer programs such as Google Suite and Microsoft Office.
  • Industry Knowledge: Knowledge of the construction industry and collective bargaining agreements.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work well with others and build strong relationships.
  • Problem Solving: Problem solving and time management abilities.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills.
  • Mathematical Skills: The ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide sufficiently to perform standard mathematical calculations.
  • Forecasting: The ability to foresee events and anticipate changes in conditions and operations to the greatest extent possible and reacts to these appropriately.
Working Conditions
  • Office Work: Performance of duties will mostly be in the office with visits to shops and job sites as needed.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time. Exposure to loud noise, dirt, and exposure to the elements; climbing ladders/stairs, uneven ground, bending, kneeling, and twisting are to be expected on job sites.
