Maintenance Technician II

The University of Massachusetts Amherst is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician II to join our team. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing mechanical systems and system components, including HVAC, pumps, and compressors.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain and repair mechanical systems, including HVAC, pumps, and compressors
- Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on heating, ventilating, air conditioning, pumps, and compressor equipment
- Responsible for cleanliness of mechanical rooms
- Perform minor plumbing, heating, and electrical-related work not requiring a license
- Respond to routine maintenance and emergency calls
- Three years of full-time or equivalent part-time experience in the HVAC, pumps, and compressor trades
- Diploma or certificate from a recognized trade, technical, or vocational school, or equivalent experience
- Valid Class D Driver's License; Class B License or CDL License with appropriate endorsements may be required based on assignment
This is a maintenance function that includes overtime, returning to work between shifts when directed or called. You will be required to work mandatory overtime during special events and may be required to work overnight shifts.
