Job Title: Speech Therapist PRN Specialist

Job Summary:
As a Speech Therapist PRN Specialist at Baptist Health, you will diagnose and treat communication and swallowing disorders in patients. Your expertise will be utilized to develop outcome-oriented plans of care, including patient and family teaching as appropriate. You will provide treatment based on the plan of care, revising as necessary, and accurately maintain all patient documentation. Additionally, you will participate in required meetings, inservices, patient care meetings, and QI monitors. Your strong communication skills will enable you to work effectively with healthcare professionals and customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Schedule, evaluate, and treat patients as assigned.
  • Develop outcome-oriented plans of care, including patient and family teaching as appropriate.
  • Provide treatment based on the plan of care, revising as necessary.
  • Accurately maintain all patient documentation, including computerized documentation, and complete appropriate charging for evaluation, treatment, and teaching.
  • Participate in all required meetings, inservices, patient care meetings, and QI monitors.
  • Work as a team member with peers and healthcare professionals.
  • Communicate effectively with all healthcare professionals and customers.
  • Assist the clinical manager in program development and other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
A. License in SLP from the State of Kentucky.
B. CFY (Clinical Fellowship Year) or CCC from the American Speech Hearing Association.
C. If CFY, must obtain CCC within one year of employment.
D. Experience in acute, rehab, and outpatient settings is desired.
E. Basic Life Support (CPR) certification is required.
