Role Summary: As an Automation Control Specialist at XBOW LAUNCH SYSTEMS INC, you will be responsible for the design and execution of control systems tailored for our advanced energetic material production facilities and diverse rocket motor testing setups. This role requires expertise in various hardware components, including PLCs, VFDs, instrumentation, and robotic systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish and uphold comprehensive safety and design protocols across the organization.
- Develop schematics for both new and existing configurations utilizing AutoCAD Electrical or comparable software.
- Implement control systems in environments classified as hazardous (Class 1 Div 1/2).
- Manage multiple projects concurrently while maintaining exceptional quality and safety standards.
- Utilize P&IDs to create Bill of Materials (BOMs) and commissioning timelines.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, vendors, and suppliers to ensure project success.
- Enhance and develop skills related to robotics, control systems, and safety protocols to facilitate project execution and operational staff training.
- Assist in the assembly of control cabinets, wiring harnesses, and general hardware installation.
Essential Skills:
- Proficient in industrial automation components, including 4-20mA/0-10V analog inputs and outputs, switches, motor drives, and 6 DOF robots.
- Experience with version control systems such as GitLab or GitHub.
- Ability to produce maintenance documentation and schedules for in-house designs.
- Familiarity with PLC programming environments such as CODESYS or TwinCAT.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree in Engineering.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of networking architectures, including managed switches, access points, and routers.
- Experience with data visualization tools.
- Ability to interpret mechanical drawings and assembly instructions.
- Familiarity with National Instruments LabVIEW.
- Over 10 years of industry experience.
