Clinical Social Worker

As a Clinical Social Worker at Kaiser Permanente, you will provide supervised clinical social work services to adults, children, and families with emotional and/or social problems. You will utilize established psychotherapeutic techniques in both inpatient and outpatient settings, consulting and collaborating with members of the patient's family and other healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct initial interviews with members to determine the nature and urgency of their needs, providing a professional understanding of their presentation and recommending a course of action.
- Provide clinical case management services to adults, adolescents, and children, selecting and using appropriate treatment modalities in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Rend immediate guidance and therapeutic services to help individuals and families cope with emotional crises or psychiatric emergencies.
- Maintain written records of therapy or counseling sessions, preparing reports and letters concerning patients, and phoning, writing, and visiting with clients' signed written permission to obtain pertinent information.
- Provide telephone counseling, resource information, and referral services.
- Participate in departmental/locational project assignments and activities, such as CQI activity and OD duty.
- Provide psycho-education for members in the context of a prescribed treatment.
- Master of Social Work degree or a related Behavioral Health field from an accredited College or University setting.
- Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (California) or Registered Associate Clinical Social Worker (California) or Associate Professional Clinical Counselor Registration (California).
- Once hired as an Associate, an employee will be offered and must work a schedule that would accumulate at least half of the required supervisory hours annually.
- Upon completion of supervised hours, the employee must obtain state licensure within two and one-half (2.5) years. If hired as a license-eligible employee, the employee has two and one-half (2.5) years from their date of hire to complete state licensure.
- May be drafted to work one of our emergency rooms outside of normal shift and work until clinic closing 2-3 night a week.
- Work 4/10 or 5/8 days per week Mon - Sat.
- Potential to work Sat. and some days remote, after probationary period.
