Job Title: Facilities Engineer - Junior

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Facilities Engineer Junior to support the day-to-day physical operation and maintenance of our facilities. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, instrumentation, and controls.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the facilities manager in maintaining the existing USGS magnetic observatory network.
  • Assist with market research and the preparation of project Statements of Work, Independent Government Cost Estimates, and Environmental documents.
  • Coordinate scheduling and completion of annual maintenance tasks with vendors and onsite contractors.
  • Work with the facilities manager to address facilities problems and recommend solutions.
  • Prepare background documents and review draft reports for accuracy.
  • Act as a point of contact and information resource when the facilities manager is unavailable.
