Job Summary

Shasta Community Health Center is seeking a highly skilled Human Resources Generalist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the administration of the HRIS, maintenance of job descriptions, and assistance with the recruitment process. This role will also involve participating in employee relations incidents, providing coaching and resources to employees and management, and utilizing independent judgment and discretionary decision making.

Key Responsibilities
  • Human Resources Administration
    • Participate in developing human resources management goals and objectives.
    • Safeguard the confidentiality of employee data, including electronic and personnel file information.
    • Ensure the integrity of human resources information.
    • Maintain HR database.
  • Recruitment and Hiring
    • Assist with the non-clinical recruitment process.
    • Direct and assure compliance and documentation with regard to employee evaluations, grievances, disciplinary actions, terminations, etc.
  • Employee Relations and Development
    • Address employee relations issues, such as harassment allegations, work complaints, or personnel concerns.
    • Assist Managers/Supervisors in job evaluation/analysis.
    • Recommends changes and updates job descriptions based on discussions with managers and with trends in workplace.
  • Training and Development
    • Assist in the development of training programs and ensures compliance with State requirements regarding staff and management training.
    • Maintain and update the New Hire Orientation process.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • BA/BS degree in human resources, business or related field.
    • Minimum of five years' experience in Human Resources, preferably in health care setting.
  • Knowledge and Skills
    • Knowledge of human resources management procedures, CA labor laws, agency regulations.
    • Knowledge of compensation and benchmarking practices.
    • Knowledge of federal regulations related to employment particularly the Equal Employment Opportunity Act.
    • Knowledge of human resources information systems and related computer applications.
    • Knowledge of the recruitment process and best practices.
    • Must be detail oriented and have good analytical skills.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Preferred Qualifications
    • PHR certificate.
    • HRIS expertise and experience.
