Behavioral Health Therapist MSW

We are seeking a highly skilled Behavioral Health Therapist MSW to join our team at Mid Michigan Health. As a key member of our primary care team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality behavioral health services to our patients.

• Assessment and Intervention: Conduct thorough assessments of patients referred by primary care providers, identify at-risk patients, and intervene to prevent further psychological or physical deterioration.
• Collaboration with Primary Care Team: Work closely with primary care providers to recognize and treat mental disorders and psychological problems, and refer cases to other behavioral health providers as needed.
• Patient Engagement and Follow-up: Facilitate patient engagement and follow-up care, and work with the primary care team to treat and manage patients with chronic emotional and/or physical health problems.
• Documentation and Reporting: Systematically document treatment response and monitor patients for changes in clinical symptoms and treatment side effects or complications.

• Education: Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited college or university.
• Experience: Membership in at least one professional organization (e.g., APA, NASW, CFHA) preferred. Training and experience in casework principles, including diagnosis, assessment, crisis intervention, treatment, and transition planning.
• Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate effectively with individuals and groups, and interact with people at all levels to communicate ideas and concepts in a clear and understandable manner.

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple tasks, and maintain regular and predictable attendance. The successful candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, and will be able to stay awake and focused during work hours.
