Position SummaryThe Aircraft Ground Service Specialist plays a crucial role in delivering prompt and effective service to all internal and external clients. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of company protocols and the proper handling of aircraft on the ground, along with proficient communication skills to engage with customers, pilots, and fellow team members in the customer service division.
Key Responsibilities- Manage aircraft movement, positioning, fueling, and storage
- Oversee fuel management, including quality assurance, disposal, and documentation
- Conduct daily inspections and maintenance of crew vehicles
- Ensure the upkeep and maintenance of facilities
- Provide excellent customer service and promote available services
- Participate in monthly crew meetings
- Engage in annual recurrent training
- Strong customer focus with an outgoing personality
- Effective communication with clients and staff in person, via phone, and through radio
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle and meet insurance requirements (clean driving record required)
- Proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Office
- Basic mathematical skills
This role reports directly to the Line Service Manager.
Work EnvironmentThis position involves outdoor work in various weather conditions and requires direct interaction with both stationary and moving aircraft. The role may expose employees to elevated noise levels, chemicals, fumes, and machinery.
Physical RequirementsThe physical demands for this position include, but are not limited to:
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
- Potential exposure to hazardous noise levels, chemicals, fumes, and machinery
- Outdoor work in all weather conditions
- Physical activities may include bending, lifting, walking, stooping, squatting, gripping, and climbing ladders
This is a non-exempt role that includes shift work, requiring availability during evenings, weekends, and on designated company holidays.
Travel RequirementsNo travel is anticipated for this position.
Qualifications- Experience in customer service within the service industry is preferred
- Prior experience in aircraft ground handling is advantageous
- Must be at least 18 years old with a High School Diploma or equivalent
- This is an entry-level position
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Acceptable driving record is required
- Ability to pass a background check
- Must comply with a zero-tolerance drug-free policy, including pre-employment and random screenings
