Key Responsibilities
  • Procedure Scheduling: Coordinate with internal and external providers to arrange testing for ordered procedures/tests.
  • Patient Communication: Work with patients to identify available times to schedule procedures, answer questions related to required testing, and ensure correct insurance information is on file.
  • Prior Authorization: Complete prior authorizations of ancillary testing.
  • Record Management: Maintain, update, and review patient records, charts, and other pertinent information to ensure accurate and timely information is available.
  • Phone and Email Management: Respond to and refer incoming phone calls and emails as needed.
  • Education and Instruction: Educate and instruct patients and families regarding medications, treatment instructions, and pre- and post-procedure protocols.
  • Schedule Optimization: Manage and optimize the MRI schedule.
  • Patient Screening: Assist in screening patients for MRIs.
  • Confidentiality: Maintain strict confidentiality in all situations.
  • Professional Development: Participate in professional development activities and maintain applicable professional affiliations and certifications.
  • Team Collaboration: Attend and participate in required organizational meetings and committees as requested.
Requirements
  • Education: Minimum of high school diploma or GED required. An Associate's degree in medical assisting, medical office assisting, or related field preferred.
  • Experience: At least one year of administrative support experience in a clinical environment required. Experience with scheduling preferred.
