Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Diesel Mechanic/Fleet Technician CDL to join our team. As a key member of our Fleet Management department, you will be responsible for performing comprehensive maintenance and repairs on light, medium, and heavy equipment, including gas, diesel, compressed natural gas (CNG), and electric vehicles and equipment.

Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical problems on a variety of equipment, including heavy construction equipment, refuse trucks, vactors, bucket trucks, and emergency and safety equipment.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake pad replacements.
  • Test and inspect equipment to ensure it is in good working condition.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient and effective maintenance operations.
  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules and procedures to ensure optimal equipment performance.
Requirements
  • Two (2) years of equivalent experience in a field closely related to these duties.
  • A valid Driver's License issued by the State of Utah to operate a Salt Lake County vehicle.
  • A valid Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) issued by the State of Utah within ninety (90) days of hire date.
  • A complete set of tools at the time of hire.

Work Environment

This position is 4x10s, Monday-Thursday 1:30 p.m. to midnight. The work involves extensive physical labor, lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying objects over 50 pounds. The work environment is fast-paced and requires attention to detail and ability to work independently.
