Job Title: Program Director

Interim Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Program Director to lead our Wellness and Recovery Academy and Harm Reduction and Recovery Program. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and supervising programs that provide services and support to individuals with serious mental illness and substance use disorders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and manage program staff, ensuring referrals are received to meet occupancy goals and program outcomes.
  • Manage program admissions and referrals, assessing, interviewing, and admitting clients referred from Monterey County Behavioral Health Bureau and Interim Inc.
  • Collect outcome and statistical information, achieving program goals as identified in contracts and by supervisor.
  • Provide supervision, evaluation, and corrective action of program staff using a strengths-based approach.
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with MCBHB, other Interim programs, and related organizations.
  • Facilitate group and individual counseling sessions that enhance Harm Reduction and recovery skills for clients.
  • Provide Harm Reduction focused outreach, engagement, and aftercare services to enrolled clients.
  • Develop, organize, and execute creative and fun activities to reach clients needing services.
  • Maintain client confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA, MCBHB, and other regulations.
  • Set-up and provide oversight of client EMR charts and consumer records for individuals enrolled in all programs.
  • Develop client treatment plans, served individually and in a group setting.
  • Provide oversight of client discharge processes.
  • Manage, monitor, and adhere to program budget, accountable for all expenditures within the program.
  • Oversee physical plant maintenance, food supply, facility safety, program staffing, and staff schedules.
  • Ensure that the program adheres to all standards and requirements set forth by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF).
Requirements:
  • Master's degree with two years of mental health experience and California Board of Behavioral Sciences registered associate or CA BBS licensed as LPCC, LMFT, or LCSW.
  • Two years of supervisory and substance use disorder treatment experience.
  • Cultural competency skills.
  • Excellent group facilitation and organizational skills.
  • Good written and oral English communication skills.
  • Ability to learn and apply principles of social rehabilitation and recovery philosophy.
  • Valid California driver's license; auto in safe operating condition; auto liability insurance; good driving record; criminal record clearance; proof of authorization to work in the United States as required by the Immigration and Reform Act of 1986.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of substance use recovery models, community resources, and Medi-Cal documentation.
  • Knowledge and experience with Harm Reduction and Motivational Interviewing.
Physical Requirements:

The ability to operate a motor vehicle, climb stairs, possess good communication skills, meet the requirements of the classification, and have mobility, vision, hearing, and dexterity levels appropriate to the duties to be performed.

Capable of the following extended activities: standing, sitting, climbing stairs. Capable of the following intermittent activities: lifting 25 pounds or more and bending in the performance of infrequently performed office duties.
