About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Recreation Therapist to join our Mental Health Services team at HealthAlliance Hospital. As a Recreation Therapist, you will play a vital role in providing therapeutic clinical group treatment to patients through the use of music, dance, movement, art, and other expressive modalities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement individualized therapeutic activity schedules with input from the treatment team and patient.
  • Provide individual and group therapeutic activities to patients while maintaining a safe environment and in accordance with a program schedule.
  • Complete assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes in compliance with regulations and established time frames.
  • Assist in the development of Individualized Treatment Plans.
  • Communicate Activity Therapy Departmental needs, updates, and concerns to leadership.
Requirements
  • Two years of experience working in the mental health field, required.
  • Three years of experience working in the mental health field, preferred.
  • Master's Degree in Creative Arts Therapy, Master's Degree in Social Work (MSW), or Mental Health Counseling (MHC) from an accredited Graduate Program.
  • New State Licensed Creative Arts Therapist (LCAT) or NYS Department of Education License or Limited Permit License to practice as an LMSW, LCSW, LMHC, LCAT.
