Job SummaryThe New York Power Authority is seeking a highly skilled Attorney II to join its Law Department. As a key member of the team, you will provide legal advice and counsel to various business and functional areas of the organization. Reporting to the Assistant General Counsel for the Contracts, Licensing and Environmental group, you will work closely with senior counsel to support a variety of matters, primarily transactional and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop a deep understanding of NYPA's and its subsidiaries' Business Units and their respective operations
- Research legal issues and draft opinions or memoranda analyzing potential impacts on NYPA's and its subsidiaries' programs and related business activities
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to coordinate and promote consistency in contract terms and improve NYPA's transactional processes
- Provide legal support to ensure compliance with applicable rules and regulations governing NYPA, including technical-regulatory requirements, standards and laws related to electric utility operations
- Juris Doctor Degree, admission to the New York State Bar and admitted to practice in New York State and Federal courts is required
- Minimum 2 years of legal experience
- Experience in one or more of the following areas: of law relevant to NYPA, such as energy, regulatory, litigation, commercial and finance, and employment

The salary offered will be determined based on the successful candidates' relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
