The Haltom City Public Works Department is seeking a dedicated individual to perform a range of maintenance tasks essential for the upkeep of municipal infrastructure. This role involves the operation and maintenance of various departmental tools and equipment, along with other related responsibilities as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintains, repairs, and installs essential utilities such as water mains, service lines, storm drains, valves, water meters, fire hydrants, and irrigation systems.
  • Conducts inspections of storm drains and assists in the identification of underground utilities as required.
  • Engages in landscaping activities including mowing, weed removal, and sod installation; also responsible for tree and hedge trimming.
  • Operates heavy machinery including bulldozers, backhoes, excavators, loaders, rollers, dump trucks, and water trucks; ensures cleanliness and performs routine maintenance on equipment.
  • Responsible for transporting materials and equipment to various job sites; proficient in loading and unloading trailers.
  • Fabricates tools and devices as necessary; welding tasks may be assigned.
  • Undertakes additional duties as assigned or necessary for the department's operations.

Qualifications:

Applicants should possess a High School Diploma or equivalent, along with a minimum of one year of experience in public works maintenance, or a suitable combination of education and experience. A valid Class A Texas Commercial Driver's License must be obtained within one year of employment.

Incentive pay is available for candidates holding a Class A Commercial Driver's License.
