Our client, NPA Worldwide, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Ocean Engineering Specialist to contribute to the development of cutting-edge surface and subsurface UAVs for both industrial and defense applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in System Engineering and Program Management for the design, fabrication, and implementation of innovative ocean systems.
- Engage in the design, analysis, and engineering of advanced prototype systems through various analytical methods and trade studies.
- Oversee the design, fabrication, and assembly of components and systems, including the identification of necessary tests, documentation, execution, and reporting of results.
- Be prepared to travel for field testing and deployment of equipment, as well as conducting acoustic testing and data analysis.
- Contribute to the technical content for new proposals, products, and business development initiatives.
- Collaborate effectively as an individual contributor within a team, including members located remotely.
Required Qualifications:
- Proficient in system documentation and design tools (e.g., Magic Blocks, Cameo Systems Modeler, Ansys, Relyence reliability tools, MS Visio, MS Project).
- Experience in hardware and software development, encompassing specification, fabrication, wiring, integration, testing, and deployment.
- Familiarity with engineering analysis tools (e.g., Mathcad, MATLAB).
- Competence in mechanical and/or electrical design tools (e.g., Altium, Solidworks).
- Knowledge of software programming languages (e.g., JAVA, C#, C++, Python).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated leadership experience in small to medium technical programs or projects.
- Understanding of acoustic propagation and scattering in underwater and structural contexts.
- Experience with microcontrollers (e.g., Arduino, Basic Stamp, Raspberry Pi).
- Familiarity with 3D printing technologies and associated software.
- Ability to read and create mechanical and/or electrical fabrication drawings.
Compensation:
The base salary for this position ranges from $160,000 to $190,000 annually. NPA Worldwide is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace.
