Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and energetic Group Fitness Instructor to lead our group exercise classes at UFC Gym. As a Group Fitness Instructor, you will be responsible for creating a fun and engaging workout environment for our members.

Key Responsibilities
  • Class Instruction
    • Develop and lead a variety of exercise routines, incorporating music and choreography to create an engaging workout experience.
    • Lead the class by performing the workout alongside participants, providing clear instruction and demonstrations.
    • Incorporate cuing, tempo, and safe transitional movements to ensure a safe and effective workout.
    • Adhere to company standards and guidelines for group exercise instruction.
    • Greet and welcome new participants, providing orientation and support as needed.
    • Educate participants on proper form, anatomy, and contraindications, modifying exercises as necessary.
    • Explain and enforce safety rules and proper equipment usage.
    • Motivate participants to maximize benefits from the exercise routines.
    • Monitor participation and make adjustments as needed.
  • Administrative Duties
    • Arrive on time to prepare, set up, and greet participants, starting and ending classes as scheduled.
    • Project a professional image through dress, behavior, and attitude.
    • Communicate member concerns to the Group Fit Manager as needed.
    • Encourage long-term participation and member retention.
    • Store equipment neatly and report any issues to the Group Fit Manager or Operations Manager.
    • Accurately record hours worked and operate the stereo sound system, microphone, and room lighting.
    • Secure substitute instructors for assigned shifts and promote special events and classes.
Requirements
  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
    • Knowledge of safe exercise technique and principles.
    • General understanding of human anatomy and kinesiology.
    • Knowledge of group fitness teaching strategies and music incorporation.
    • Possess a high degree of energy and endurance to complete each fitness class.
    • Ability to communicate and connect with diverse groups of individuals.
    • Ability to effectively demonstrate skills being taught.
  • Minimum Certifications/Educational Level
    • Current Group Fitness approved certification (preferred).
    • Additional training in specialty formats may be required (e.g., Les Mills Body Pump, Schwinn Cycle, Zumba, U-Jam, Pilates, yoga).
