Job Title: Park Ranger

Job Summary:

The City of Farmington is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Park Ranger to join our team. As a Park Ranger, you will be responsible for enforcing all City Park Ranger ordinances, including citation writing, court appearances, and park patrols. You will also be responsible for maintaining a safe and enjoyable environment for visitors to our parks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Enforce all City Park Ranger ordinances
• Patrol parks and the Downtown District to prevent vandalism and ensure public safety
• Check equipment operation at Parks and Recreation facilities
• Work an assigned shift using own judgment in deciding course of action
• Maintain contact with police communication personnel
• Perform shift work in a rotation of days, evenings, and nights, including weekends and holidays

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
• Excellent public relations skills
• Ability to handle difficult situations and emergencies
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Previous experience as security guard or law enforcement preferred

Work Environment:

The work environment is outdoors in all types of weather conditions. The employee will be required to work in a fast-paced environment and make quick decisions in emergency situations.
