Job Summary:

The Conway Medical Center is seeking a compassionate and skilled Certified Nursing Assistant to join our Home Hospice team. As a CNA, you will provide supportive services to patients and their families, promoting comfort, dignity, and quality of life in the final stages of illness.

Responsibilities:

• Assist patients with activities of daily living, including ambulation, turning, and repositioning
• Provide emotional support and comfort to patients and their families
• Assist with personal care, including bathing, dressing, and grooming
• Manage catheter care and incontinence care
• Use adaptive equipment as outlined in the plan of care or facility's policies
• Observe skin integrity and report any impaired skin or injuries
• Perform incidental household services, including making beds and light housekeeping
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care
• Report bruises, skin tears, falls, and other incidents to the nurse in a timely manner

Qualifications:

• High school diploma required
• Current South Carolina State Nursing Assistant Certification (CNA) in good standing required
• Current South Carolina Driver's License required
• Previous experience working as a CNA in hospice and/or related healthcare setting preferred

Job Expectations:

• Must be able to work flexible hours and travel between offices, facilities, and other places
• Must be a licensed driver with automobile that is insured in accordance with state and/or organizational requirements and is in good working order
• Adhere to dress code; appearance is neat and clean
• Report to work on time and as scheduled, complete work within designated time
• Represent the organization in a positive and professional manner
• Communicate the mission, ethics, and goals of the organization, as well as the mission statement
• Take responsibility for own work in completing tasks in accordance with Embrace policies and procedures
• Must maintain high ethical standards
• Must exhibit ability to function with minimal supervision

Special Skills:

• Understand hospice philosophy and issues of death and dying
• Passionately believes in the core values of excellence, compassion, healing, teamwork, stewardship, innovation, integrity, and is a champion of CMC core values and model for all
• Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with nursing colleagues, physicians, and department heads
• Strong organizational skills
• Strong PC skills required
• Strong verbal communication skills required
