Postdoctoral Researcher in Soil Biogeochemistry

We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Scholar to join our team at the Berhe Soil Biogeochemistry Lab at UC Merced. The successful candidate will work on a project related to deep soil processes, exploring diverse areas such as soil organic matter dynamics in deep soil layers, post-fire ecosystems, and ecosystems undergoing extreme climate changes.
Key Responsibilities
The Postdoctoral Scholar will be responsible for designing and implementing novel field and lab experimental methods, as well as analyzing data related to soil biogeochemistry. The ideal candidate will have strengths/interests in soil science, physical geography, environmental engineering, ecology/ecosystem sciences, data analysis, or a related field.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will hold a PhD in soil science, ecology, earth and environmental sciences, or a related field. Experience with numerical modeling and laboratory approaches related to soil biogeochemistry is desirable but not required.
