Role Summary:
The Lower School Teacher will design, organize, and execute the Scheck Hillel instructional framework within a primary educational setting, fostering an environment that encourages students to reach their academic and social-emotional potential. This role is pivotal in actualizing the educational vision for both students and faculty.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that enhances learning and promotes student participation.
  • Develop and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning tailored to diverse learners.
  • Clearly communicate learning objectives and success criteria for all educational activities.
  • Guide and supervise students in utilizing learning materials and technology.
  • Create and implement formative and summative assessments in line with established guidelines.
  • Monitor individual student progress and adapt teaching strategies accordingly.
  • Manage classroom behavior to support a conducive learning environment.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and development as mandated by school policies.
  • Engage in consistent communication with parents regarding their child's academic and behavioral progress.
  • Ensure the safety and security of students in the classroom and communal areas.
  • Participate in school functions, including field trips and assemblies.
  • Attend faculty meetings and parent-teacher conferences as required.
  • Stay informed on current educational trends and research to enhance teaching practices.

Qualifications:

  • Commitment to fostering a nurturing and challenging educational environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in education or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years of teaching experience in a lower school context.
  • Valid teaching certification is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of pedagogical practices and learning theories.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
