Role Summary
The Lower School Teacher will be responsible for designing, organizing, and executing the Scheck Hillel instructional framework within a primary or elementary classroom setting. This role is pivotal in guiding students to realize their individual academic and social-emotional potential. Key Responsibilities
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that enhances learning and encourages student participation.
- Develop, prepare, and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that promote active learning tailored to diverse learners.
- Communicate clear learning objectives and success criteria for all educational activities.
- Guide and supervise students in utilizing learning materials and technology effectively.
- Create and implement formative and summative assessments in line with established guidelines.
- Monitor individual student progress and adapt teaching strategies accordingly.
- Manage classroom behavior to facilitate an optimal learning environment.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and development as mandated by educational regulations.
- Engage in regular communication with parents regarding their child's academic and behavioral progress.
- Ensure the safety and security of students in both classroom and communal areas.
- Participate in school events and supervise students during various activities.
- Stay informed on current educational trends and research to enhance teaching methodologies.
Qualifications
- Commitment to fostering a nurturing and challenging educational environment.
- Bachelor's degree in education or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred.
- A minimum of 3 years of teaching experience in a lower school setting.
- Valid teaching certification is preferred.
- Strong understanding of pedagogical practices and learning theories.
