Job Summary

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a high level of expertise in benefits administration. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the benefits function, including benefit plan administration, HRIS maintenance, and leaves of absence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer benefit plans in compliance with state and federal regulations, as well as university policies and procedures.
  • Manage HRIS systems, including benefit testing, troubleshooting, and data analysis.
  • Coordinate leaves of absence, including FMLA, CFRA, PDL, and HIPAA, as well as ADA accommodations and interactive process.
  • Develop and distribute benefit educational materials, and support new hire and open enrollment processes.
  • Conduct New Employee Benefits Orientations, and participate in the administration of Tuition Remission and Tuition Exchange programs.
  • Perform periodic benefits data audits, and respond to time-sensitive ad-hoc requests as needed.
  • Maintain benefits data integrity within HRIS systems, and develop processes to audit, analyze, and resolve issues.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field.
  • 4 years of work experience in benefits administration.
  • In-depth working knowledge of benefit management systems and related reporting and data analysis.
  • Advanced skills in MS Excel.
  • In-depth working knowledge of leave of absence administration and regulations.
  • Experience with ADA accommodations and interactive process.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with HRIS systems, including Workday benefits module.
  • SPHR or other related certification/s.
  • Fluency in oral and written Spanish; ability to translate as needed.
