Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Recovery Support Specialist II to join our team at the Gandara Mental Health Center, Inc. This is a Relief basis position within our Substance Use Disorder residential program team model.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for actively promoting the philosophy of Gandara Center and maintaining a high level of commitment to the program. They will assist clients in remaining actively involved in the milieu and attend to their needs, especially during stressful and crisis situations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Client Support: Maintain direct supportive contact with residents to continually assess their individual needs.
  • Transportation: Transport clients to appointments as needed.
  • Certifications: Acquire and maintain necessary certifications mandated by the Agency and licensing standards.
  • Treatment Groups: Facilitate treatment groups.
  • Relationship Building: Develop strong, supportive relationships with clients, providing for their safety and care.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments in settings where care must be coordinated between medical, MAT, and psychiatric and behavioral needs.
Requirements:
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associate's degree or Bachelor's degree in a human service field preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience working with psychiatric clients preferred.
  • Availability: Must have availability of an automobile to transport clients or perform other supportive services as necessary.
  • Language: Bilingual Preferred (Spanish/English)
