Are you a skilled Experimentalist with a passion for solid-state quantum devices like semiconducting spin qubits? Do you want to collaborate with a dynamic team of experimental and theoretical physicists? If so, we invite you to explore this exciting opportunity at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (APL).
Key Responsibilities:- Propose and lead independent research projects focused on novel semiconducting quantum devices, controls, or characterization techniques.
- Collaborate with APL staff to identify emerging challenges with quantum solutions.
- Support ongoing programs in quantum information science by contributing to efforts that implement quantum characterization, control, and error protection strategies in semiconducting spin qubit systems.
- PhD in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field.
- 1+ years of post-doctoral (or equivalent) experimental experience with quantum systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A proven record of research accomplishments and publications in the field of quantum science.
- Ability to obtain an Interim Secret level security clearance by start date and ultimately obtain a TS/SCI+poly level clearance.
