Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Bridge Carpenter to join our team based out of Newberry, SC. As a Bridge Carpenter, you will be responsible for performing carpentry work on bridge construction jobsites, including manual tasks that contribute to the carrying out of the project.
Main Responsibilities- Perform tasks on all areas and aspects of construction projects, including working with tools, lumber, and materials.
- Basic Carpentry as it relates to building and bracing wooden forms and falsework.
- Drive Pile - work off the ground positioning pile in leads, climbing ladders up to 60 feet.
- Basic concrete as it relates to placing and finishing for bridge construction.
- Steel and Concrete Girder Erection - work off the ground assembling and guiding girders into final position, including handling as needed to preset.
- Work and assist others to work in a safe manner within the guidelines of Colas.
- Perform any other task assigned by supervisor.
- Minimum of 1 year in heavy highway construction.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or walk; talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee frequently is required to stand and walk. The employee is occasionally required to sit. Must be able to work off the ground and elevated heights. The employee must be able to lift and manipulate objects up to 80 lbs for 50 feet is required. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Employees must have 20/40 vision, either naturally or with corrective lenses. Hearing should be excellent or corrected by audio device.
