Bridge Carpenter

We are seeking an experienced Bridge Carpenter to join our team at Reeves Construction Company, a subsidiary of Colas USA. The successful candidate will be based out of Newberry, SC, and will be responsible for performing carpentry work on bridge construction sites.

• Carry out manual tasks that contribute to the successful completion of bridge construction projects, adhering to safety guidelines.
• Perform tasks on all areas and aspects of construction projects, including working with tools, lumber, and materials.
• Basic carpentry skills, including building and bracing wooden forms and falsework.
• Drive piles, working off the ground to position piles in leads and climb ladders up to 60 feet.
• Basic concrete skills, including placing and finishing for bridge construction.
• Steel and concrete girder erection, working off the ground to assemble and guide girders into final position.
• Work safely and assist others to do the same within the guidelines of Sloan Construction.

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in heavy highway construction.

The work environment for this role will involve regular exposure to moving mechanical parts, outside weather conditions, and vibration. The employee will also be frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, high, precarious places, and toxic or caustic chemicals.
