Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse II to join our team at Craven County Government. As an Immunization Specialist, you will play a critical role in administering immunizations to children 0-18 years of age and tracking immunization compliance for Craven County children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer age-appropriate immunizations according to local and state guidelines.
  • Counsel parents/guardians on benefits and side effects of immunizations according to state and local guidelines.
  • Assist with delinquent follow-up and document care provided according to local protocol.
  • Compile immunization reports and order vaccines as needed.
  • Assist in the Child Health Primary Care Clinic, including reviewing records prior to healthcare providers' exams and assisting with procedures.
  • Perform immunization tracking in private physicians' offices and work in health fairs and schools administering immunizations when needed.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Graduation from a state-accredited program of practical nurse education and one year of practical nurse experience.
  • Licensure to practice as a practical nurse in North Carolina by the NC Board of Nursing.
