About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Development Officer to join our team at The Academy of Goal Achievers, Inc.

As a critical member of our team, you will be responsible for driving our fundraising efforts, cultivating and maintaining relationships with donors, raising mission awareness, and managing volunteers.

Key ResponsibilitiesFundraising:

• Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy to support our mission and programs.

• Identify, research, and cultivate potential donors, including individuals, corporations, foundations, and government entities.

• Prepare and submit grant proposals, sponsorships, and funding applications.

• Plan and execute fundraising events, campaigns, and initiatives.

• Track and report on fundraising progress, ensuring goals and targets are met.

Donor Cultivation:

• Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with existing and prospective donors and community partners.

• Develop and implement donor engagement and stewardship plans.

• Communicate regularly with donors, providing updates on the impact of their contributions and our activities.

• Recognize and thank donors through various channels.

Mission Awareness:

• Increase awareness of our mission and programs within the community.

• Develop and execute a communications strategy to promote our work.

• Represent our organization at community events, meetings, and other public engagements.

Volunteer Management:

• Recruit and manage volunteers to support our programs and events.

• Develop and implement volunteer engagement and retention strategies.

• Coordinate volunteer activities and ensure a positive experience for all volunteers.

• Track and report on volunteer involvement and contributions.

Requirements

• Education: Open to all majors, but must have skills that align with relationship building, sales, business development, fundraising, and developing and managing relationships.

• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in fundraising, donor relations, or a similar role within a nonprofit organization.

• Proven track record of successful relationship building/management, fundraising, and increasing revenue and business for an organization or company.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.

• Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and donor management software.

• Passion for our mission and a commitment to youth development.

• Must be a creator of opportunities.
