Job Summary
As a Perioperative Anesthesia Specialist at Prisma Health, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality anesthesia care to patients undergoing medical and surgical procedures. Your expertise will be essential in formulating anesthetic plans, coordinating care with other perioperative personnel, and administering anesthesia services under the medical direction of staff anesthesiologists. You will also be responsible for responding to emergent airway management situations within the facility as needed. This is a dynamic role that requires strong communication and teamwork skills, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. - Formulate anesthetic plans with anesthesiologists and discuss risks, benefits, and options with patients. Prepare for anesthetic administration and implementation of plans. - 15%
- Perform special line placement procedures, including intravenous and arterial line insertion, within established guidelines. - 10%
- Document pre-anesthesia assessments, intraoperative anesthesia care, and post-procedure data on anesthesia records. - 25%
- Maintain age-specific competence in anesthesia technical skills, including airway management, induction, blocks, and general anesthesia. - 20%
- Stay up-to-date with new anesthesia pharmacology, modalities, techniques, and technology. - 15%
- Provide a safe practice environment by minimizing risk of infection, physical injury, psychological stress, and equipment failure. - 15%
Requirements
This role requires a Master's Degree in Nurse Anesthesia and a strong foundation in anesthesia care. As a CRNA, you will be responsible for providing high-quality anesthesia services to patients, working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, and maintaining a safe and efficient practice environment.
