We are seeking a highly motivated and caring individual to join our team as a Before and After School Site Assistant at the YMCA. As a Site Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing a safe and nurturing environment for children aged K-6th grade in the Illinois Quad City Schools.
Key Responsibilities- Program Implementation: Assist in the implementation of weekly lesson plans and curriculum, ensuring a high-quality program that meets the needs of our participants.
- Child Safety and Well-being: Monitor and ensure the safety of children at all times, providing a secure and healthy environment for them to thrive.
- Communication and Relationships: Develop a courteous relationship with program participants, parents, and guardians, school staff, and the general public, using effective communication skills to build strong relationships.
- Teamwork and Collaboration: Work as a team with other YMCA staff members to achieve program goals and objectives.
- Administrative Tasks: Assist with administrative tasks, such as serving meals and snacks, maintaining program areas, and resolving conflict and discipline issues.
- Education and Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and one year of experience working with youth.
- Certifications and Training: CPR/AED for infant, child, and adult, Bloodborne Pathogens, Child Abuse Prevention, and other required trainings.
- Language Skills: Ability to read, write, and speak effectively in English.
The work environment is fast-paced and dynamic, with occasional exposure to outside weather conditions. The noise level is moderate to loud at times.
CompensationThe hourly rate for this position is $14/hour.
