Job Title: Preschool Teacher

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Preschool Teacher to join our team at the YMCA. As a Preschool Teacher, you will play a vital role in shaping the minds of our young learners and helping them develop essential skills for future success.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs of our students
  • Establish a safe and nurturing environment that promotes social, emotional, and cognitive growth
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure seamless program delivery and high-quality care
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians to keep them informed about their child's progress
  • Manage classroom activities, supplies, and equipment to ensure a smooth and efficient learning environment

Requirements:

  • Minimum of one year of experience in early childhood education or a related field
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; 60 semester hours of college credit with 6 hours of Early Childhood Education/Child Development or a CDA preferred
  • Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community
  • Within 3 months of hire, completion of CPR, First Aid, AED for infant, child and adult, Bloodborne Pathogens, Illinois Harassment training
  • Within 6 months complete Food Handler certificate
