Job Overview

The Public Area Attendant is a key member of our team, responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our residential community. This role requires a high level of attention to detail and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities
  • Clean and maintain all public areas, including hallways, common spaces, and elevators
  • Empty trash and recycling from common areas and restrooms
  • Clean and sanitize common area and office restrooms
  • Mop tile hallways and corridors
  • Assist with cleaning of Health Club locker rooms as needed
  • Wipe down common area furniture, walls, fixtures, and equipment
  • Maintain cleanliness of office spaces
  • Perform a variety of cleaning and maintenance duties as assigned, including but not limited to sweeping, mopping, shampooing, dusting, polishing, trash disposal, replacing light bulbs, window cleaning, and painting as needed
  • Inform supervisor of needed supplies
  • Maintain all cleaning solutions in accordance with OSHA requirements for hazardous chemicals
  • Remove trash from premises and assist in emergency cleaning
  • Set up and break down tables and chairs for special events, club meetings, and other activities occurring in the clubhouse and outdoors
  • Maintain a friendly and professional attitude
  • Responsible for maintaining the appropriate level of sanitary and cleaning supplies for assigned areas
  • Inspect all assigned areas daily and report any cleaning and maintenance discrepancies to supervisor
  • Ensure security procedures are adhered to at all times
  • Ensure all safety precautions are followed while performing work
  • Maintain a working relationship with building staff
  • Responsible for completing special cleaning projects on a weekly, monthly, or yearly basis as directed by supervisor
  • Maintain room inspection log sheets and monthly work log sheets to track completed assignments
  • Maintain assigned equipment in good working condition
  • Keep all work areas neat, clean, and organized
  • Clean restrooms, including sweeping and mopping floors, refilling dispensers, cleaning toilets, urinals, sinks, mirrors, and counters, emptying and removing trash, and reporting any discrepancies or deficiencies to supervisor
Requirements
  • Previous custodial experience preferred
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills required
  • High school diploma or equivalency preferred
  • Capable of working extended hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as necessary
  • Must be able to speak English in a clear and understandable voice
  • Position involves sitting, standing, stooping, kneeling, pushing, shoving, lifting, carrying, and moving objects that can weigh up to 50 lbs
  • Must be able to climb several flights of stairs if necessary
  • Must be able to interact with all types of individuals, be mentally alert, detail-oriented, and have good reasoning skills
  • Must be able to work on more than one assignment at a time with frequent interruptions, changes, and delays

Compensation: $22.00 per hour
