Job Title: Nurse Manager

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Nurse Manager to join our team at St. Luke's Hospital Transitional Care Center. As a Nurse Manager, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and leading a team of nursing professionals.

Job Summary

The Nurse Manager will be responsible for:

  • Supervising and evaluating nursing staff to ensure high-quality patient care
  • Developing and implementing nursing policies and procedures
  • Coordinating patient care with other healthcare professionals
  • Monitoring patient outcomes and making data-driven decisions
  • Providing education and training to nursing staff
  • Participating in quality improvement initiatives
Responsibilities

The Nurse Manager will be responsible for:

  • Assuming responsibility for planning, organizing, motivating, coordinating, and controlling personnel, equipment, and supplies in the nursing department
  • Assisting in the orientation process of new employees
  • Assisting in the continuing education of nursing employees
  • Monitoring the resident's comprehensive care plan process
  • May be required to work as a charge nurse if needed
  • Acting as the Director of Nursing or nurse managers in their absence
  • Completion of medical records upon resident discharge from the facility
  • Following established standards of nursing practice and implementing facility policies and procedures
  • Interpreting existing policies and procedures to Resident Care Technicians, residents, families, and physicians
  • Supervising and evaluating all direct resident care and initiating corrective action as necessary
  • Conducting resident rounds daily, reporting problems to the Director of Nursing, if necessary, and initiating corrective action
  • Identifying safety hazards and taking appropriate action
  • Attending staff meetings, in-service programs, and committee meetings as assigned
  • Following staffing guidelines and making nursing assignments according to qualifications of staff and characteristics of the resident population
  • Assuming responsibility for compliance with Federal, State, and local regulations within the assigned unit
  • Counseling Certified Nursing Assistants and recommending disciplinary action, when necessary, to the Director of Nursing
  • Participating in the employee evaluation process by providing information on the clinical performance of Certified Nursing Assistants to the Director of Nursing
  • Additional duties as assigned
