Job Summary

Hanover Foods Corporation is seeking a skilled Heavy Laborer to join our production team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing general labor duties throughout the plant, ensuring the highest quality products are produced.

Key Responsibilities
  • Product Inspection: Conduct thorough inspections of products to identify and remove defects or extraneous material.
  • General Labor: Perform a variety of tasks, including preparing raw materials for production, depositing fatback into cans, and physically lifting up to 100 pounds as required.
  • Container Inspections: Inspect containers for seam integrity, proper lid placement, and fill levels to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Housekeeping: Maintain a clean and organized work area, including sweeping, dumping, and disposing of materials used in production.
  • Maintenance Awareness: Understand the operation of equipment and be able to stop it in case of automatic function failure.
  • Reporting: Report any mechanical or safety issues to the supervisor or leadperson immediately.
  • Adherence to Safety Practices: Adhere to common safety practices and guidelines, including the use of protective clothing and equipment as required.
  • Food Safety and Quality: Follow food safety, legality, and quality policies and procedures within the scope of the job responsibilities.
  • Equipment Operation: Operate a forklift, electric pallet jack, bobcat, and hoist as needed.
Requirements
  • Basic Math Skills: Possess basic math skills to accurately record data onto a spreadsheet.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with management and coworkers.
  • Work Environment: Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment with minimal supervision.
  • Attendance and Overtime: Must be able to work overtime as required and maintain a good attendance record.
