Job Description

Contribute to the design and development of products, solutions, and systems for the Heavy Duty Gas Turbine technology space. This role involves activities linked to technical improvement of existing products and components, impacting the quality of own work and the work of others on the team. Execute standard operational/technical tasks typically subject to instructions and work routines, with latitude to rearrange the sequence to complete tasks/duties based on changing work situations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create definitions of parts, models, and assemblies in the form of 2D cross sections, 3D models, tolerance stack-ups, and various electronic data formats to support analysis, manufacturing, assembly, tooling, and inspection.
  • Broaden knowledge of own technical discipline to execute policy/strategy, including support roles with specialized technical field of knowledge.
  • Develop strong customer relationships and serve as the interface between customer and GE, explaining technical information to others.
  • Accurately employ engineering judgment to mitigate quality risk and ensure full technical reviews of 3D models with technical experts in the team.
  • Drive a Lean culture approach throughout the team, proposing ideas for continuous improvement in the design and engineering process.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university or college.
  • 40 hours/week - on-site at GE in Greenville, SC at least 2 days per week.
  • US Citizenship.
  • Basic understanding of solid modeling software and model-based definition packages.
  • Entry-level position (0 years required experience).
