Overview:

The Certified Medical Assistant plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional patient care by performing a variety of administrative and clinical tasks. This position involves precise data entry for patient registration and thorough insurance verification. The Certified Medical Assistant is expected to exercise sound judgment and maintain effective communication with patients, families, healthcare professionals, insurance providers, and other stakeholders. Key Responsibilities:


• Uphold the standards of the OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.

• Support physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants in delivering high-quality medical care.

• Ensure accurate data entry for patient accounts, including charge entries and patient registrations.

• Conduct insurance verifications and maintain statistical records.

• Assist in scheduling patient appointments, managing phone communications, and keeping healthcare providers informed of any changes.

• Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications:

A. Education/Skills

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent is preferred.

B. Experience

  • Preferred: 1 year of experience in a medical office setting.

C. Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications

  • Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) in the state of employment is mandatory.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) is required.
