About this Role

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic I to join our team at Palm Beach State College. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance tasks, including general mechanical, electrical, AC, plumbing, and carpentry repairs. You will maintain and repair the physical structure of our buildings and grounds, ensuring a safe and functional environment for our students, faculty, and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and repair physical structure of buildings and grounds, including performing preventative maintenance on equipment.
  • Assist with set up of campus events and internal building and office relocations, including moving furniture and equipment.
  • Perform minor plumbing and electrical repairs on heating, air conditioning, and other mechanical systems.
  • Clean clogged drains and toilets and assist in performing other plumbing repairs.
  • Routinely operate light equipment, vehicles, and various attachments, including dump trucks, bucket trucks, and moving vans.
  • Maintain and perform in a safe workplace, following established safety practices.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED with additional training related to the position.
  • One year of related experience.
  • Experience in maintenance and repair of buildings and equipment.
