Job Title: Occupational Therapist

We are seeking a highly skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team at Prince George County Public Schools. As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in helping students with special needs to develop the skills they need to succeed in school and in life.

Job Summary:

The Occupational Therapist will work with students who have been identified as needing occupational therapy services. The therapist will assess the student's needs and develop an individualized plan to help them improve their skills. This may include providing therapy sessions, collaborating with teachers and other school staff, and communicating with parents and families.

Responsibilities:
  1. Assess students' needs and develop individualized plans to improve their skills.
  2. Provide occupational therapy sessions to students, either individually or in groups.
  3. Collaborate with teachers and other school staff to implement therapy plans and provide support to students.
  4. Communicate with parents and families to keep them informed about their child's progress.
  5. Keep accurate records of student progress and therapy sessions.
  6. Attend staff meetings and other school events as needed.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Licensure as an Occupational Therapist in the state of Virginia.
  • Experience working with students with special needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Working Conditions:

This position involves frequent travel to and from schools, transporting equipment, and lifting and positioning students. You will need to be able to work in a fast-paced environment and be able to adapt to changing circumstances.

Salary and Benefits:

The salary for this position is based on the teacher's scale. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
