Job Title: Staff Nurse

At Connecticut Children's, we're seeking a dedicated and compassionate Staff Nurse to join our team. As a Staff Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the well-being of our young patients.

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled and empathetic Staff Nurse to work in our pediatric unit. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in pediatric nursing and excellent communication skills. As a Staff Nurse, you will be responsible for providing direct patient care, collaborating with the healthcare team, and promoting a positive and supportive environment for our patients and families.

Responsibilities
  • Clinical Practice: Provide safe and effective patient care, utilizing the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient outcomes.
  • Population-Specific Care: Demonstrate knowledge of the unique needs of pediatric patients and families, and apply this knowledge to provide culturally sensitive and individualized care.
  • Leadership and Collaboration: Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to achieve patient-centered outcomes, and contribute to the development of a positive and supportive work environment.
  • Documentation and Communication: Maintain accurate and timely documentation, and effectively communicate with patients, families, and the healthcare team to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Patient and Family Partnership: Foster a partnership with patients and families to promote health, wellness, and education, and support their involvement in the care process.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of 2 years of pediatric nursing experience, with a preference for experience in pediatric critical care.
  • A current State of Connecticut Registered Nurse licensure and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • PALS and CPI certification preferred.
