Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Technician III to join our team at Gentex Corporation. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our equipment and facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to production downtime requests in a timely and efficient manner, providing excellent internal customer service.
  • Troubleshoot faulty equipment to root cause, perform quality repairs as needed, and escalate concerns to relevant departments.
  • Perform corrective and preventative maintenance on equipment, documenting work in our Maintenance Management System.
  • Assist in the installation, modification, and relocation of equipment, including making connections to facility-level utilities.
  • Provide input on equipment purchases or upgrades to improve service and maintainability.
  • Leverage our Inventory Management System to locate and source available machine components.
  • Mentor and develop Maintenance I and II team members participating in our Gentex-sponsored apprenticeship program.
Requirements
  • 2-year technical degree or Journeyman certification.
  • 5-10 years' experience in manufacturing maintenance.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Thorough understanding and knowledge of mechanical, electrical, vacuum, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with CAD software.
  • Experience with troubleshooting Programmable Logic Controller programs.
  • Experience in electrical panel wiring.
  • Experience in machining.
  • Experience in automated robotic systems.
Physical Demands
  • High level of hand dexterity/coordination.
  • Ability to stand, remain stationary, and/or move about for 8 hours.
  • Ability to ascend ladders and traverse multiple building floors and areas.
  • Ability to regularly lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Bending, reaching, squatting, or otherwise positioning body around equipment of varying heights.
