We are seeking an experienced and accomplished Cardiothoracic Surgeon to lead our thriving Cardiac Surgery program at Ellis Medicine.
Leadership
The ideal candidate will possess exceptional leadership qualities, a strong track record in clinical practice, and a proven ability to drive strategic planning in cardiothoracic surgery. They will be responsible for setting a clear vision, inspiring and managing effectively, and mentoring others. As the spokesperson for the CT program, they will enhance and develop referral relationships, increase cardiac surgery volume, and cultivate a successful program.

Ellis Medicine is a leader in the New York Capital Region for Cardiac Care, with a comprehensive cardiology service including Non-Invasive, EP, Interventional, Structural, and Thoracic physicians. We offer a range of cardiac care services, from minimally invasive surgery to complex procedures requiring combinations of traditional and advanced techniques.
Requirements
- Board certification in General Surgery and Cardiothoracic Surgery
- Robotic Certification and Experience a plus
- NYS License or eligibility
- A minimum of 5 years of working experience, at least 2 years of leadership experience
Opportunity Details
- Hospital Employed Contracted Position
- Program currently performs 200-250 heart cases annually
- Clinic and Surgical Office conveniently located on hospital campus
- Call Rotation 1:2
- 25+ employed Cardiologists
- Strong in-house CT Surgical PA support
- Modern Hospital Facility with two Cardiothoracic OR Rooms
- Robust Referral Network from both the employed and non-employed regional cardiology practices
- Large geographic catchment area
