Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Civil Engineering Leader to head our Land Development team in Austin. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in delivering large-scale residential and mixed-use projects, leading teams, and driving business development efforts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership & Team Development: Recruit, train, and manage a team of Senior Project Managers, engineers, and Civil 3D designers.
  • Project Management: Oversee the planning, design, and execution of land development projects, including paving, grading, drainage, utilities, and site infrastructure.
  • Client Relationship Management: Act as the primary point of contact for key clients, ensuring exceptional service and fostering long-term relationships.
  • Proposal & Contract Oversight: Collaborate on project proposals, scopes, and fees; manage the contracting process from start to finish.
  • Business Development: Engage in business development efforts to expand our portfolio. Coordinate with leadership to maintain a strong project backlog.
  • Operational Management: Monitor and manage key business metrics such as revenue, utilization, and accounts receivable.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure the delivery of high-quality plans and specifications by leading or overseeing quality assurance/quality control processes.
  • Public & Industry Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with public agencies and industry organizations.

Skills and Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Texas (or ability to obtain)
  • 15+ years of experience in land development, with at least 10 years specific to residential and multi-family projects
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Excel, and Word
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively present to clients and lead internal teams
