This position supports the Wellness Team through various initiatives aimed at coordinating care gap measures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide exceptional patient care through in-person, telephone, and electronic interactions for examinations, treatments, monitoring, and preparation for diagnostic tests or procedures across various locations.
- Gather and record patient information, including vital signs, primary concerns, medication reviews, allergy information, health risk screenings, and other relevant services.
- Assist physicians and nursing staff with procedures such as injections, EKGs, phlebotomy, and other patient care tasks as instructed.
- Coordinate patient care in accordance with physician directives, company standards, and established policies.
- Support administrative tasks, including phone calls and messages; document all actions taken.
- Ensure accurate and thorough electronic medical record (EMR) documentation and maintain paper-based records for all assessments and procedures.
- Prepare and sanitize patient rooms and set up instruments and equipment according to established protocols while adhering to infection control standards.

Required Qualifications:
- Completion of a Medical Assistant training program.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA or willingness to obtain it by the start date.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Medical Assistant.
- Reliable transportation is necessary.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Phlebotomy certification.
- Certified Preceptor Certification.
- At least 1 year of experience in a multi-provider environment.
- Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
California Residents Only: The hourly wage for this position ranges from $19.47 to $38.08. Compensation is determined by various factors, including local labor markets, education, work experience, and certifications. UnitedHealth Group adheres to all applicable minimum wage laws.
