Veterinary ICU Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Veterinary ICU Technician to join our team at Mount Laurel Animal Hospital. As a key member of our ICU department, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our veterinarians in delivering high-quality medical services.
Responsibilities- Assist veterinarians with patient care in the Emergency and ICU departments, including administering medications, obtaining vital signs, and monitoring patient status.
- Perform treatments on hospitalized patients, including phlebotomy, basic knowledge of hematology, and anesthesia monitoring.
- Conduct medical record keeping and client communication, including patient updates and discharge instructions.
- Place intravenous catheters, central lines, and PICC lines, as well as perform transfusion therapy and feeding tube care.
- Comfortable handling and providing nursing care for exotic animals, including SQ/IM/IV injections.
- Proper medical record keeping and invoicing.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in advanced in-patient care.
- CVT or VTS certification preferred.
- Work experience in a fast-paced, multi-veterinarian hospital or emergency/referral practice.
- Knowledge of normal patient vitals for awake, sedated, and anesthetized patients.
- Accuracy in calculating and delivering anesthetic agents, fluids, and CRIs.
- Comprehensive understanding and experience with anesthetic monitoring.
- Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment and commitment to building relationships with colleagues, clients, and community.
This role requires frequent bending and standing for long periods of time, routine lifting and restraining animals, and the ability to lift up to 40lbs.
ScheduleWednesday - Saturday: 10pm-8am
Thursday - Saturday: 8pm-8am
