About the Opportunity

As a Licensed Practical Nurse with United Surgical Partners, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care in our ambulatory surgical services. Under the general direction of the department manager, you will assess, plan, and implement nursing care for patients undergoing surgical procedures.

You will be responsible for delivering safe, knowledgeable, compassionate, educative, and individualized nursing care to patients and families. Your expertise will be essential in maintaining a clean, orderly environment and ensuring patient safety.

Responsibilities
  • Verify that essential equipment is functioning properly each day.
  • Assess and monitor patients in the post-operative area, demonstrating competency with all monitoring equipment.
  • Transport and position patients, observing policies, procedures, safety requirements, and patient needs.
  • Document patient care records and other forms accurately, following policies and procedures.
  • Maintain patient safety and ensure a clean, orderly environment throughout the Center.
  • Accurately comprehend and interpret verbal orders/directions.
  • Address individual patient needs and complete all post-op physician orders.
  • Adhere to CDC Bodily Fluid precautions and infectious waste disposal according to policy.
  • Monitor compliance with principles of aseptic technique according to accepted standards.
  • Organize time, equipment, supplies, and personnel to provide effective and efficient case management.
  • Conduct pre and post-procedure orientation and instruction of patient and/or patient's family, communicating a positive and caring attitude.
  • Provide verbal and written discharge criteria.
  • Conduct pre and post-procedure telephone interviews.
  • Perform other duties as requested or assigned.
  • Engage in various clerical and record-keeping duties as needed.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of potential exposure to hazardous materials (i.e., patient body fluids, disinfectant chemicals) and location of SDS sheets.
About the Candidate

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse with experience in the peri-operative setting or procedure healthcare. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated knowledge of sterile technique, working with anesthetized patients, and other clinical situations found in a surgical or procedural setting.

Graduate of a professional school of nursing, with a current LPN license in the state of Florida, and certification in BLS or ability to obtain upon hire are required. Critical Care, E.R., or recovery experience is encouraged.
