Job Summary

The Nurse Care Specialist independently plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care in patient care situations using standards of care, policy, and procedure. This role provides direct nursing care to patients, assumes teaching and leadership responsibilities, and participates in shared decision making and quality improvement activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a comprehensive plan of care to meet the unique needs of each patient
  • Implement interventions and coordinate care delivery to ensure seamless patient care
  • Provide patient education and evaluate progress toward desired outcomes
  • Practice ethically and integrate evidence-based findings into practice to improve patient outcomes
  • Communicate effectively and demonstrate leadership in the professional practice setting
  • Ensure environmentally safe and healthy nursing practices

Requirements

  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the State of Florida
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Windows
  • Participation in the RN Residency Program for new RNs
