Description

The Quality Assurance Specialist will implement company and regulatory quality standards for interior doors. The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable of industry regulations and responsible for audits and reviews required for obtaining quality data.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct in-process and final product inspections to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Monitor product quality with the production team and provide guidance on quality improvement.
  • Generate and distribute quality documentation, including reports and audits.
  • Assist in enhancing quality, reducing waste, and boosting efficiency in the production process.
  • Perform inventory checks of work in progress and quarantined materials to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Support production promptly and effectively, adhering to all company quality procedures.
  • Develop detailed documentation on quality issues and corrective actions, providing recommendations for improvement.
  • Provide daily and weekly quality reports to management, highlighting areas for improvement.
  • Educate the production team on quality issues and collaborate with managers to enhance safety and product quality.
  • Select and inspect samples using appropriate methods, ensuring compliance with quality standards.
  • Inspect outgoing products for completeness and visual quality, ensuring they meet company standards.
  • Familiarize with all quality procedures and company documents, staying up-to-date on industry regulations.
  • Engage in safety and continuous improvement initiatives, suggesting opportunities for quality, safety, efficiency, and cost reductions.
  • Be available for weekends, holidays, rotating shifts, and overtime as required, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
Requirements
  • Follow instructions from the Plant Production Manager or Department Managers, demonstrating a willingness to learn and adapt.
  • Work effectively in a team, with clear, polite communication and individual motivation, promoting a positive work environment.
  • Complete tasks and projects promptly, meeting deadlines and delivering high-quality results.
  • Proven experience as a quality inspector or in a similar role, with a strong understanding of quality testing machines and standards.
  • Detail-oriented with a result-driven approach, ensuring accuracy and precision in all quality-related tasks.
  • Reliable and trustworthy, with a strong work ethic and commitment to excellence.
  • Familiarity with quality testing machines and standards, with proficiency in MS Office and basic math skills.
  • Exemplary attendance, with a strong commitment to punctuality and reliability.
  • Support and participate in continuous improvement efforts, suggesting opportunities for quality, safety, efficiency, and cost reductions.
Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent required, with three years of related experience or training, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Proficient in basic math operations, rate and ratio calculations, and interpreting bar graphs, with a strong understanding of quality testing machines and standards.
  • Ability to understand and follow detailed instructions and handle standardized problems, with a strong work ethic and commitment to excellence.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft software, with proficiency in MS Office and basic math skills.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand for long periods, and perform repetitive actions involving frequent bending, lifting, reaching, and pushing, with a strong work ethic and commitment to excellence.
  • Capable of climbing ladders or accessing confined spaces, with a strong understanding of safety protocols and procedures.
  • Able to carry, push, or pull varying weights occasionally, 25-50 pounds frequently, and 10-20 pounds consistently, with a strong work ethic and commitment to excellence.
  • Visual acuity necessary for safe and effective job performance, with a strong understanding of quality testing machines and standards.
