Compensation:

The starting salary is $37.68 per hour, with the final rate based on qualifications and experience.

Role Summary:

This role involves collaboration with County Assessors and various taxing districts throughout the State of Idaho. Candidates should possess a solid background in computer hardware and software configurations, a strong understanding of cadastral mapping, coordinate geometry (COGO), and land surveying principles, along with experience in applying GIS within land records and information systems planning and analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and implement a comprehensive geographic information system for the department.
  • Oversee staff engaged in GIS, digital image analysis, cartography, and database management.
  • Recruit and train personnel.
  • Facilitate training for county mapping staff.
  • Prepare and manage the annual operating and equipment budget.
  • Establish priorities, timelines, and assign GIS and mapping projects.
  • Provide expert consultation to department personnel, Idaho Counties, and other agencies regarding GIS.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of budget practices, including cost/benefit analysis, typically acquired through relevant work experience or coursework.
  • Strong understanding of management practices and current trends in information technology, gained through education or professional experience.
  • Familiarity with computer hardware and software capabilities, developed through work experience in the IT sector.

  • Proven experience in supervising and training technical IT staff.
  • Hands-on experience in installing and maintaining various operating systems and software.
  • Ability to identify and resolve complex system-related issues, translating them into effective solutions.
